The Under the Sea Stage We Built Around It
For one under the sea gala, we stood the lectern centre stage in front of a printed reef backdrop that ran the full width of the stage. An inflatable clam opened beside it, illuminated Tivoli stage stairs glowed up to the deck, and pink and purple inflatable tentacles rose at each end of the backdrop wall. Out in the room, inflatable jellyfish and a giant inflatable octopus hung over tables set with Blue Turtle on Coral centrepieces, aqua satin runners and aqua lycra chair backs. From behind the wheel, the speaker looked out over the whole reef.
