A ladder truss is two rails joined by open cross bracing, and this one curves into a circle 4.3m across. The ring joins together from four curved sections, so it travels in parts and is built on site.
Once it is up, the circle becomes the frame for the whole feature. Chiffon falling from the rim makes a soft canopy over a wedding dance floor, a truss border around it gives a clean, finished line above a stage, and LED lighting along the rails turns it into a glowing halo. Picture a marquee wedding. The circle hangs above a white shiny dance floor, with white chiffon drapes falling from the rim in soft folds and a giant crystal chandelier at its centre. LED strip light along the rails washes the chiffon warm white for the first dance, then shifts to colour when the band starts. Across the rest of the roof, white ceiling drapes soften the marquee lines. For an awards night, swap the chiffon for a black velveteen truss border around the rim and hang the ring above the stage instead.
